What is Meowus?+
Meowus by SMEPost is an open-source social media agent for planning, approving, scheduling, and publishing campaigns. SMEPost remains the main commercial product for research, Brand Brain, campaign creation, copy, visuals, localization, versions, and approvals.
Is Meowus free?+
The Meowus open-source project is free to use under its repository license. SMEPost cloud features, credits, and paid plans are separate commercial services.

Does Meowus require SMEPost?+
No. Meowus can run independently where supported. Connecting SMEPost is optional and useful when you want Brand Brain context, campaign generation, and cloud-assisted workflows.
Which platforms are supported?+
Available now: Threads, with local browser-assisted publishing in Meowus and explicit approval before each post. Planned or community extensions: Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Xiaohongshu — these are not available as built-in publish workflows yet. Only platforms with a usable publishing workflow are listed as available.
How is Meowus different from Manus?+
Manus is a general-purpose AI agent. Meowus focuses on social-media workflows, can run locally or self-hosted, is open source, supports campaign approvals before publishing, and can connect with SMEPost campaigns and brand context. Supported platforms depend on the current implementation.
Where is browser-login data stored?+
Everything runs locally in Meowus. Social login sessions and browser profiles stay on your machine inside the Meowus app data directory — they are not uploaded to SMEPost as the primary storage path.
Can users provide their own model API keys?+
SMEPost cloud-assisted paths use your SMEPost organization credits. Local/open-source Meowus configurations can support bringing your own provider keys where the runtime documents that option.
Does Meowus publish without approval?+
No. Sensitive publishing steps require explicit approval. You can inspect the proposed action, approve or reject it, and take over the browser when login or judgment is needed.
What operating systems are supported?+
Meowus desktop builds for Windows and macOS are already published on GitHub Releases. Download the installer for your OS from the releases page, and check the README for the latest supported versions and install notes.
